Bend in the Road
Swaranya Sarkar (Flat No. : 6/1/G)
Rays of light shifted through the trees, casting a dim, peaceful glow
on my surroundings. The sweet fragrance of flowers waffled in the
air. The woods I was walking through could not be called anything
but beautiful, the most beautiful of Mother Nature's Creations.
Nature is at her loveliest in the woods. The trees call to us in a
million voices, whispering to us their secrets, describing all they
have seen, watching for aeon after aeon. The frivolities of everyday
life seems to disappear suddenly as if magically. Everything is sweet,
untouches by the horrors going on in the cities and towns. The
woods are a place to rest, to feel that we would have missed
something wondrous, had we not taken a break from mundane duties
to escape into this dream world.
In cities, all is stained by deceit, crime and bloodshed but the woods
are natural, beautiful and clean untouched by all going in the world
outside. The wide variety of trees, birds, flora and found are
enhancing .... oh so entrancing. The mornings are not filled with
breakfast gangs or school bells - instead, they are filled with the
sweet twittering of birds, their chirping as they exchange their
news merrily. The leaves sway with the breeze, dance with the rain,
play with the bird.
The woods, I realised, as my walk came to an end are a place to rest,
to be cheerful, be happy. The woods made me realise that there are
places where we can give in to Nature's here and stay with her.
Throughout our lives there will always be that are place to dream -
to live - to discover ourselves.
