Fluoride Contamination in groundwater of Sanpamoung

subdistrict Moung District Phayao Province

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND
Fluoride was found in soil, stone and water especially at mountain area,

hot spring. Ground water had fluoride more than other natural water. In Thailand
water resources and tab water that got water from ground water. Water

resources in northern part and community tape water that got water from
groundwater Prayou Province found fluoride over department of health criteria at
Ampor Muong and Ampor June. Exess Fluoride in water cause bone and teeth

diseases
OBJECTIVE

To study the violence fluoride in water at Tumbol Sunpamoung Muong
district Prayou Province and the relation with area and type of water.

METHODS

Examine 30 samples were selected from water sources of Tumbol Sunpamuang.
Investigation quality of fluoride by Ion exchange chromatography, collected data

with questionnaire and interpreted by computer programed.
RESULTS
The results were about 36.36 percent higher than criteria, the median

fluoride was 0.67 ppm, the maximum content was 2.94 ppm and average was

0.67 ppm. There were non-correlation of the area of water collected, water for
cooking and water development statistically significant (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSION and DISCUSSION

The finding indicated that fluoride in water was a problem. The water
should be solution by responsibility officers and the people acknowledged about

how fluoride effect to their health, investigation of fluoride in urine and lesion of
fluorosis on teeth.
