In terms of volume of work, we are attempting to strike a balance and I would reiterate that if your child is anxious about workload, please reassure them they are not going to be in trouble. Either contact the subject teacher directly, or the Head of Year. If your child is in the BMW centre or SEN, please contact
Mrs Dimbleby or Mrs Killick directly, as I mentioned in my previous letter
Year 11
Your teachers are continuing to work with you, as they would with any other year’s GCSE students at the beginning of April. The course was never just about the exam – it was about ensuring you had a good, rounded understanding of the subject and were able to move on to your next stage.
In the coming months, your teachers will be submitting grades in accordance with the guidance you and your parents / carers have received from Ofqual. Work will continue to be set, as we want to ensure you have completed the course to the same level as any previous year’s GCSE students.
In practice this means that, for Year 11, the current distance learning will continue until mid-May, after which departments will be setting projects aimed, where possible, to support your personal post 16 studies. Continuing with academic work up to the time you would have left to go on Study Leave is very important, to ensure you do not lose those good habits you will need for the next stage of your life, whether in study or training.

A creative Easter cake by Beth, 8MT, taking on the challenge set by
Ms Robinson to put a creative idea into baking.
Congratulations to Beth, who auditioned for a place in the ‘Junior Bake Off’ last year and got through to the second interview round. Good luck with getting through to the next round!
A great achievement, well done Beth!
