EASTCHESTER ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT AWARDS EASTCHESTER ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT AWARDS
Presented by The Athletic Department
The Athletic Department of Eastchester High School gives out the following prestigious awards to deserving student athletes. All of the District’s coaches are eligible to participate in choosing who the winners will be. What follows is a brief explanation of each of those awards.
ATHLETE OF THE YEAR ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
The Athlete of the Year award is given to the student-athlete who has contributed the most to the athletic program at Eastchester High School.
There are three main components to this award: Athletic Accomplishment • Sportsmanship • Citizenship
The Athlete of the Year embodies the values represented by the Eastchester High School athletic department.
These athletes have achieved the highest level of respect from their peers and coaches.
SPIRIT OF THE EAGLE SPIRIT OF THE EAGLE
The Spirit of the Eagle Award is given to the individuals who best exhibit the spirit of Eastchester athletics.
They have exemplified the true essence of team play and sacrifice. Support for the entire athletic program and carrying forth the enthusiasm and dedication of the “card’nal and blue”are characteristic of these student-athletes.
Their behavior has been elevated to the highest level of decorum both on the field and in the classroom.
These leaders actively inspire those
in our school and community.
