Message from the Treasurer
As I write today the numbers in hospital continue to fall as Spring
comes and the vaccine rollout continues apace, maybe the plan may
work out as hoped (fingers crossed) and we may be able to return to
normal!!!
Services continue to be held on Sundays but now with confidence rising
there are now 30 in church when in January, before the vaccine fewer than
20 were attending. We can of course watch the live streaming, if we have
the technology, the quality of picture and sound is very good. However, the
much-reduced congregation gives me grave concern about the effect on
the church’s income. The semi-closure of the church does not materially
change the gas bill or annual insurance and other costs!!
I continue to be grateful to those who donate to the church by regular
standing order for maintaining their payments and also to those who have
made lump-sum payments to cover the weeks of missed payments during
the closure of the church.
I am also aware of the need of some members of the congregation to shield
or self-isolate to avoid coming into close contact with the world at large.
Could I ask that members of the congregation who would normally donate
via the weekly envelope scheme and who have not made a lump-sum
payment to consider making such a transfer to the church account details
of which are;
Account name
The Parochial Church Council of St John the Evangelist Lund
(PCC of Lund)
Sort Code: 16-22-25
Account No: 10035669
or setting up a standing order which can be done online or for which I can
supply the appropriate form: alternatively by making contact with me to see
if something else can be arranged.
