Donor Spotlight:
ROBERT J. LEHMAN
“At Padua, we are family, we
participate, we give back, and we help each other out. It’s
just what we do. After all, that’s the
Padua Franciscan philosophy.”
Bob Lehman is, and always has been, a firm believer in Catholic education. He and his spouse Sheana (+2017) sent their three children, Michael ’89, Robert ’88 and Ann Marie ’86 to Padua. The
legacy continued with grandchildren Alexandra ’17, Nicolas ’19 and Julia ’21. Four more grandchildren who live in Tulsa, OK and Jacksonville, FL round out the Lehman family. Unfortunately, because of the distance there’s no likelihood of them being Padua Bruins!
Bob and Sheana have done much more than support Padua since 1989 with gifts directed to financial assistance through the PaduaPlus+ Campaign, the Sheana Lehman Memorial Endowment Fund, the Bruin Benefit and the Franciscan Fund.
They have created an awareness of the importance of helping others by establishing the Lehman Family Pay It Forward Grant at Padua. Since 2010, the Pay It Forward Grant has helped more than 45 students
receive a Catholic, Franciscan education. The grant is awarded to rising seniors who need financial help in order to complete their Padua education and graduate on to the next phase of their lives. All that is asked in return is that someday, when they are in a position to do so, student recipients pay it forward by making a gift to Padua and give others the opportunity to experience a Padua Franciscan education.
Bob is a retired CPA who now enjoys traveling to wherever the sun is shining including Mexico and the Caribbean. His adventures have also taken him to Europe and China. Bob retired in 1999 after 32 years as a partner at Deloitte. After his first retirement Bob had three other careers in business and consulting. He finally retired in October, 2019 allowing plenty of time for enjoying his family, near and far, and getting out on the links when possible.
