Semester 1/2 Credit Grades 11, 12
This course is designed to familiarize the student with the functions of finance. Concepts examined include: financial management, financial markets, financial institutions, financial analysis and forecasting, personal financial literacy, and investments. Students will have the opportunity to work in small-group teams and consult with business professionals while they compete in an online stock market simulation.
ECONOMICS (179)
Semester 1/2 Credit Grades 11, 12
This course will introduce students to fundamental economic topics with a focus on basic micro and macro concepts. Through a blend of individual, group, and project-based learning, students will examine various topics including the nature of the economic system, a study of different economic systems, and the law of supply and demand. In addition, through investigating various current event topics, students will become more aware of the economic forces that are shaping their lives.
