led MedTrack juniors in a hands-on experience at the Surgical Pathology department at the Cleveland Clinic, including examining a complete respiratory tract with metastatic lung cancer.
MedTrack juniors and seniors
participated in a “Stop the Bleed” training session sponsored by the local U.S. Army Medical Recruiting Station in Middleburg Heights. Stop the Bleed is a national campaign that encourages bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. Students also learned how they can pursue most healthcare professions in the military, with the government often funding scholarships or
tuition reimbursement for their commitment to service.
 Baldwin Wallace University hosts a small group of MedTrack juniors each year to experience a cadaver lab, suturing clinic, and primary care medicine case study.
Members of the senior MedTrack class
attended the annual health symposium sponsored by Lake Ridge Academy. This year’s breakout sessions included small group discussions on Abortion; Medical Marijuana; Opioids as Pain Relievers; the Obesity Epidemic; Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide; and How Schools Treat Mental Health.
  John Niezgoda ’21 and Olivia Gutowski ’21 accompanied MedTrack Director Laurie Grabowski ’89 to the premier of “I Am Human,” a documentary that featured the Functional Electrical Stimulation Unit of MetroHealth Medical Center and the Cleveland VA.

delivered this year’s keynote address at the annual Honors Advanced Science Seminar sponsored by MedTrack. She is currently pursuing her doctorate at Case Western Reserve University in biomedical engineering.
