  MedTrack seniors had to pivot and defend their Honors Advanced Science Seminar research proposals via Zoom instead of in-person at school. They also fielded questions from judges – HASS instructor Dr. Kathy Gorbach, MedTrack Counselor Mrs. Amy DeCesare, MedTrack Director Mrs. Laurie Grabowski ’89, Dr. Jose Vega ’10, and Dr. Lori Margevicius.
 MedTrack students, such as seniors Maria Rich ’20 and Gabe Abood ’20, are involved in all facets of student life, including emceeing this year’s Olympic Day.
 MedTrack Director Laurie
Grabowski ‘89 helped her students learn about practicing professionalism with a fun e-mail exercise that ended in hand- delivering candy to all of their houses.
“Hours dedicated: 20; Houses visited: 83;
Miles driven: 288.1; Seeing my MedTrack kids again: Priceless” - Laurie Grabowski ’89
Ashley Bruner ’20 received this year’s MedTrack Award. Her growth in the program and overall success was honored at a delayed, socially-distant MedTrack Senior Celebration in July. Gabe Abood ’20 was also recognized as the “Last Man Standing” for being the only male for the past two years in the MedTrack Class of 2020.
        Padua Named Cleveland Clinic Banner School
Padua Franciscan High School has been distinguished as a 2019–2020 Cleveland Clinic Banner School. This award recognizes Padua’s noteworthy success in leveraging community resources to advance student learning. This distinction was earned by fewer than 24% of the 264 schools in ten states that participated in the Cleveland
Clinic’s program this year.
Cleveland Clinic K–12 Education offers school programs designed to promote health and wellness, academic achievement, and career preparedness for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. It takes dedicated teachers and administrators to deliver these opportunities to students. The effort Padua’s MedTrack Director Laurie Grabowski ’89 invested in implementing the Judging Innovation Program and the support Padua provided in the process demonstrate an exceptional commitment to student enrichment.
Specifically, MedTrack seniors participated in several webinars sponsored by the Cleveland Clinic to learn how to evaluate innovative and disruptive healthcare technologies. A team of four MedTrack students (Kelly Keil, Nicole Lippucci, Grace Arcuri, and Nicole Barsa, along with chaperone Mr. Jake Lantz) joined other schools as guest judges at CCF’s Medical Innovation Summit in October 2019.
