Campus Ministry NEWS (Cont.) Bruins Give Back during
Coronavirus Crisis
Padua Bruins found ways to give back to the community during the coronavirus crisis.
Alumna Amy (Lang) Kwiatkowski ’93 and her daughters
Carly ’21, Meara ’23 and Anna (future Bruin) have been making fabric face masks for those on the front lines in health care and other essential workers. They reached out to friends and family on Facebook to join their efforts.
Biology teacher Mrs. Kathy Craider dropped off 2,000 nitrile gloves and 12 reusable goggles (that Padua no longer needs for labs) to Parma Fire Station 3 on March 25, 2020.
Principal David Stec ’86 said, “I wish we had more supplies to donate. I’d give them all away.”
Several Padua faculty and staff members put together 150 meals and bagged lunches, that were served at St. Herman’s House of Hospitality in Cleveland the week of March 30, 2020.
Bruins Hold COVID-19 Collection for the Needy
The Padua community lived the Gospel through good deeds
and acts of kindness from their homes during the Spring of
2020. Thank you to the dozens of students, parents, alumni and faculty/staff who helped transform the lives of hundreds of people by donating to our first collection for St. Herman’s House of Hospitality during this time of need. Together we collected hundreds of protective home-made masks, boxes of granola bars, and notes of hope.

MLK Prayer Service
Assistant Campus Minister Mr. Tim Evans along with many students helped Padua celebrate Martin Luther King by leading an all-school prayer service. Amaree Horne ‘21 read parts of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream Speech,” reminding each of us of the need to be open and accepting of all people. Our school community is comprised of many different cultures and languages. During the service, the “Our Father” was prayed by the
school in each of the languages, with each line in a different language. The highlight of the prayer service was listening and singing along with the Gospel Choir from our partner school, St. Francis School in Cleveland. The students from St. Francis School shared their talent with Padua and helped enrich our prayer with song.
