Advancement NEWS Bruins Big Give Raises Record-Breaking $456,818
Padua’s 5th annual day of giving, Bruins Big Give, was truly a day of celebration as the Padua community came together to raise a record-breaking $456,818 on Thursday, October 7, 2021. Through the generosity of our donors, Bruins Big Give has grown from $108,401 in 2017 to nearly $500,000. The 24-hour day of giving kicked off the Franciscan Fund for the 2021-22 fiscal year, which ends June 30, 2022.
Some of the highlights included five challenge matches totaling $75,000 from alumni Michael J. Schuessler ’85, Joseph P. Myers ’99, Gary Zdolshek ’71, an anonymous Padua parent, and the Board of Trustees. These challenge matches helped inspire our Padua family to give back during our special 60th anniversary celebration year.
This generous outpouring of support from 1,074 of our alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff and students helps strengthen and sustain Padua’s reputation as the premier destination for Catholic co-education in Northeast Ohio. In addition, this funding keeps tuition affordable so that all students who seek a Padua Franciscan experience have the opportunity to become happy, healthy, holy and highly prepared for life beyond Padua.
President David Stec ’86 expressed his thanks to the Padua community for its incredible generosity during Bruins Big Give. “What you have done is going to make a real difference in the life of our school and in the lives of our students. I pray that God continues to bless you with all good things and fills your hearts with peace.”
