Creating a Legacy
through Planned Giving:
The Forever Franciscan Society
nothing that you have received, only what you have given: a heart enriched by honest service, love, sacrifice and courage.” St. Francis of Assisi
Contributing to the Padua Franciscan High School Endowment Trust enables you to create a gift that keeps on giving. The Endowment Trust manages its overall assets for long-term sustainability and growth. As the principal of the Endowment grows, more funds are available to the school, providing financial assistance to qualified students who couldn’t attend Padua without this help. As a member of our new Forever Franciscan Society you can not only help today’s Bruins receive a Franciscan education, but you will benefit your estate and your heirs. You will be welcomed as a member of the Forever Franciscan Society with a planned gift of any amount.
Bequests
Giving through your will is the easiest and most popular way to make an estate gift and one of the most significant ways donors can benefit Padua. Through a provision in your written and executed will, you can make a gift in the form of cash, securities, real estate or personal property.
Retirement Plan Assets
Tax deferred retirement assets in your 401(k), 403(b) or traditional IRA are a good way to give back to Padua. Once these assets pass to someone other than your spouse, the taxes you didn’t pay are due in full, substantially reducing what your heirs receive. Consider designating the Padua Franciscan Endowment Trust, (i.d. 34-1336323) a tax-exempt 501-C-3 organization as your beneficiary.
Life Insurance
You can help insure the future of Padua while providing yourself with an immediate tax deduction and estate planning benefits. A fully paid-up life insurance policy can be irrevocably assigned to Padua as owner and beneficiary. Or, you may purchase a life insurance policy for the specific purpose of benefiting Padua, with little after-tax cost.
Charitable Gift Annuity, Lead Trust or Remainder Trust
These methods provide you with tax advantages today while still allowing you and your beneficiaries to enjoy the income during your lifetime.
These are only a few planned giving options available to you when considering your future and that of Padua Franciscan High School. We recommend you discuss these other opportunities with your financial advisor or estate planning attorney. To get the conversation started, please contact us at 440-845-8224.
