the shop
• Hosted a 4-class youth program with the Dowd Youth
Center in April: Earn a Bike program – kids learned basic
maintenance skills and safe riding practices
• Hired a shop manager in August
• Secured 2 Americorps Vistas in August
• Increased access to shop programs dramatically: from
6.5 hours weekly in 2016 to 21.25 hours weekly in 2017
• Invested in Volunteer Leaders to establish org goals for 2018
• Worked with volunteer leaders to begin drafting a comprehensive
volunteer handbook which will be complete by end of year
• Formed relationships with Binns Elementary, Gladden
Community House, Dowd Youth Center, the Community
Resource Center to provide bikes to kids in need –
Working with Gladden and Dowd to establish
ongoing multi-year youth programs
• Helped found and co-chair Bike Friendly Franklin, a bike
advocacy collective of orgs in Franklinton along with
Columbus Public Health
