 The Boyne Public School Council is established to encourage and facilitate the involvement of parents/guardians, staff and community members in providing quality education for all our students. Research has shown that the involvement of parents/guardians in their children’s education has a positive impact on improved student learning and helps to create a sense of community in the school. A supportive school community enhances a positive learning environment. By working together as partners, we can encourage greater academic, social and intellectual achievement for our students and prepare them for success as responsible citizens.

Purpose of the Constitution and By-Laws
The Boyne Public School Council Constitution and By-Laws supports the advisory role of the council according to O. Regulation 612/00 and Halton District School Board Administrative Procedure governing school councils.
Through the active participation of parents dedicated to improving student achievement and enhancing the accountability of the education system to parents, the council can make recommendations to the Principal or the Board on any matter. The school board and school principal must seek the views of council on matters that affect student learning. The school board and Principal must report back to council the results of council’s recommendations and actions taken in response to recommendations.
