Pocomoke River State Park
Shad Landing* (near Snow Hill) and Milburn Landing (near Pocomoke City) offer a number of excellent amenities including tent sites, cabins, trailer hookups, boat rentals, picnic areas, boat ramps, fishing piers, a swimming pool, and nature trails. *Campgrounds may be limited at Shad Landing, as they are renovating the site.
Paddle Sports
The Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries provide paddlers of all skill levels with flat-water excursions, white- water thrills and historical and cultural adventures along intricate waterways. Commercial guides and outfitters are ready to provide assistance.
- Utilize a local outfitter in Snow Hill or rent a boat at Pocomoke River State Park and then let river currents sweep you gently through one of the nation’s northernmost stands of bald cypress.
- Sinepuxent Bay Water Trails, off Assateague Island, offers the only ocean kayaking in Maryland. Choose from the Bayside Loop or Old Ferry Landing Loop. Avoid the summertime crowds (and insects) by visiting in the spring and autumn, while also taking advantage of paddle-in camping opportunities.
