Assateague Island National Seashore Campground
Individual campsites are available year-round. Island
access is from the northern route in Maryland or the southern route in Virginia. Sand dunes, salt marches, forests, and lofty sea views make up this beautiful piece of  mother earth. Wildlife includes sika deer, ghost crabs, and migrating birds.
Entertainment is plentiful with crabbing, clamming, swimming, kayaking, and fishing. Comfort and cleanliness welcome visitors with showers, picnic tables, campfire rings, and quiet for the soul.

Assateague State Park
This Oceanside Park is located on Assateague Island with two miles of beach offering excellent swimming, sunbathing, surfing, and fishing. A total of 342 camp sites are available with a fire ring and a picnic table.  Campsites may be reserved last week of April through the last weekend of October.
Beach activities not your ideal, then the beautiful scenery of this park will provide serene escape and rest. Wildlife includes over 200 species of birds, which  come and go according to the season. Whitetail and sika deer make home on the island and dolphins may be seen playing in the blue cool waters.
Pocomoke River State Park
Maritime forests stretch out around Pocomoke River State Park. Fresh ocean breeze mingled
with pine creates a rejuvenating scent. Multiple camping sites make up the area, and tent and cabin reservations may be made ahead of time to ensure a comfortable stay. Individual, group camping, and youth group camping are available.
Paddle Sports
The Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries provide paddlers of all skill levels with flat-water excursions, white-water thrills, and historical and cultural adventures along intricate waterways. Commercial guides and outfitters are ready to provide assistance.
- Utilize a local outfitter in Snow Hill or rent a boat at Pocomoke River State Park and then let river currents  sweep you gently through one of the nation’s northernmost stands of bald cypress.
