Nanticoke Riverwalk and Canoe Launch
Division of Parks and Recreation, Seaford
Seaford has a scenic Riverwalk and Canoe Launch on the beautiful Nanticoke River. The Riverwalk is a 400 ft. lighted, landscaped, and paved sidewalk ideal for strolls along the river. The Canoe Launch offers a safe and convenient place for canoes to be launched. Both of these projects continue the efforts to share the most pristine river on Delmarva with water enthusiasts.
Senior Centers
Seniors and caregivers can benefit from a variety of programs available in our area.
The Sussex County Senior Centers are open to anyone 50+ years. Most locations offer lunch for free to seniors 60+, lunch for a small fee to individuals under the age of 60, and an opportunity to meet new friends and engage in other social or health related programs.
Many also offer home delivered congregate meals. Most offer activities, medical transportation, referral services for caregivers, day trips for shopping, health-screenings, and more. Flu or pneumonia shots are given during the fall months. Disease prevention and health education seminars are offered throughout
the year. Some also offer classes, health seminars, dances, support groups, crafting, and parties.
