Kolob Canyon is located along the western edge
of Zion National Park. Kolob, from doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints meaning “star”, was made a National Monument in 1937 and incorporated into Zion in 1956. A five-mile scenic drive climbs past the towering red cliffs of the Kolob finger canyons and provides access to 3 maintained trails and views of wildlife. The Grand Canyon is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. It’s an awe-inspiring and impressive display of erosion and mother earth’s natural beauty. Extending for 277-miles, the Grand Canyon ranges in elevation from 2,400 ft. to over 8,200 ft. above sea level. It is up to one-mile deep, 4–18-miles wide, and more than 200-miles long. Numerous attractions and activities can be enjoyed within this serene canyon. At the park entrance station (either North or South Rim) you will receive The Guide, the park newspaper. The Guide lists parking areas, ranger programs, and visitor facilities. Park fees required.

The Staircase covers a large section of Southern Utah. It was given its name from its striking features along Scenic Byway 12 region of Southern Utah. “Grand Staircase” refers to a series of captivating cliffs and plateaus that rise from the Grand Canyon, beyond Bryce Canyon National Park to the Aquarius Plateau. “Escalante” refers to the extensive canyon system in the Escalante River Drainage, which
was named after an early Spanish explorer of the region. The Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is part of the most scenically diverse areas in the world. Information on the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is available at the Escalante Interagency Visitor Center and Anasazi State Park Museum.
