Hundreds of trails are available for those wanting to hike or bike in the beauty of this area’s majestic surroundings.

Escalante Canyons: The numerous small canyons that carry streams to Escalante River offer easy streambed hikes. More difficult hikes cross the area’s slip rock beds.
Wiregrass Canyon: This small canyon, near Glen
Canyon Dam, contains a 3-mile hike past a natural arch to Lake Powell.
Hole-in-the-Rock: A strenuous half-mile hike following the route pioneers of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints took from the canyon rim to the lakeshore.
Orange Cliffs: The Flint Trail out of Hite takes you to the Orange Cliffs area, which offers outstanding hiking and camping opportunities and views into nearby Canyonlands National Park.
Rainbow Bridge: While Rainbow Bridge is easily accessible by boat; hearty hikers can take the two-day hike into the monument.
Lee’s Ferry: Lee’s Ferry is the trailhead for a number of hikes. The River Trail takes you past the old fort and other historical sites including an old steamboat from the gold rush days. Spencers Trail takes you up 1,500 ft. in one and a half-miles to a spectacular view of the canyon. The Cathedral Canyon Trail takes you to the Cathedral Rapids on the Colorado River.

North Kaibab Trail: This 9.4-mile trail takes you down Roaring Creek Canyon to the canyon floor. Plan on one day hike (6 to 8 hours). Closed from mid-October to mid-May.
Bright Angel Point Trail: An easy one-mile hike starting at the Grand Canyon Lodge that takes you past some of the most awe-inspiring views of the Grand Canyon.
Transept Trail: A 3-mile round trip that starts near the rim and then proceeds into the forest. The trail ends at the North Rim Campground.
Cliff Springs Trail: This trail at Cape Royal takes you through a forested ravine, past Anasazi ruins to Cliff Springs and its impressive view of the canyon. Many of the principal roads to and through the area have been designated scenic back ways.
