Anna Hazzard Museum

A tent structure, reminiscent of the 19th and early 20th-century “Camp Meeting” era, serves as Rehoboth’s first museum.

Intersection of Garfield Parkway and Route 1, Bethany Beach The museum hosts a collection representing the history of Bethany Beach from 1901 through today. Located in the Bethany Beach Town Hall.

Intersection of Garfield Parkway and Route 1, Bethany Beach This 24-foot totem pole is named in honor of a chief of the Delaware’s native Nanticoke Indians. It was carved by Peter Toth and has been a work in progress since 1976.

The number of wrecks near the shoals, six miles east of Fenwick, resulted in Congress authorizing construction of the Fenwick Island Lighthouse in 1858.

Now home to the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau’s Information Center, this gambrel-roofed house from 1730, was moved from the country at Coolspring
in 1980 as part of the 350th anniversary celebration of the first European settlement. The house also offers an award-winning herb garden for nature lovers.

Cape Henlopen State Park, Lewes
Fort Miles is home to the 261st Coast Artillery. Built in 1941, it was one of the largest and most heavily armed coastal fortifications ever built in the U.S.
Indian River Life-Saving Station Museum

The only standing life-saving station in its original location on the East Coast. Built
in 1876, the building was used as a station for “surfmen” who rescued sailors and passengers in distress.

begin at the Hiram Rodney Burton

Built in Maine in 1938, the Overfalls is one of the last surviving U.S. Lighthouse Service floating lightships. Overfalls Maritime Museum Foundation volunteers have restored the entire ship, inside and out.

Milton’s historic district contains 188 buildings listed on the National Register, including the former Delaware Governor’s home. Governor’s Day is celebrated in September with a selection of homes open to the public.
