51. Fellah Woman taking WATER

Description: An Egyptian young woman (From upper Egypt, Al-Saiid) with her beautiful
silver wear, resting before taking water from the well. A Young Egyptian woman dressed
with the Kouftan and wearing her silver taking water from a ground well.
Biography
Leopold Bara was an Austrian painter. He studied at the academy of Vienna under Karl
Von Blaas, Karl Wurzinger and under the supervision of Anselm Feuerbach. He travelled
to Italy, and then accompanied the Scientific mission of the Count Karol Lanckorónski
to Greece and to Asia around 1885. He travelled to Egypt with Leopold Muller, (Muller
who had an atelier in Cairo), and other Austrian painters. He was Honored twice with the
Emperor’s Award. He became from 1892 Member of the Vienna Kunstlerhaus, and from
1910 at the Dürer. He also exhibited in Vienna.
