THE HIDDEN GEMS OF WAIRARAPA
Come join us as we explore the Wairarapa, a rural area with an off-the-bea- ten track charm, where the towns have their own individual character. The Waira- rapa region is known for its world class wines with Martinborough at the centre of the local wine industry whilst Greytown exudes architectural charm. Ngawi known for the colourful array of old bulldozers and tractors lined up on the beach. Travelling to Cape Palliser discovering the North Island’s most southern lighthouse built in 1897. You can climb the 250 steps to the top where you'll experience expansive views back along the coastline, including the fur seal colony.
We start our exploration in Wellington with a visit to World of WearableArts. Indulging in high tea with bubbles and afterwards dining at Logan Brown a fine dining restaurant. The highlights of this weekend include 4WD treking at Cape Palliser's Kawakawa Station, retail therapy at Greytown and wine tasting at Ata Rangi winery in Martinborough. Then there is the unforgettable dinners and lunches at restaurants and wineries, such as Crouching Tiger in Martinborough, Landgirl Cafe at Lake Ferry and Martinborough's Moy Hall. We're hosted to a private house for a home cooked afternoon tea. You finish your tour with a visit to Moore & Wilson Food Warehouse in Wellington which in 1918, began as a gene- ral wholesale merchant - this is a "foodie" must visit.
