ART DECO NAPIER & HAWKE'S BAY
Calling all lovers of Art Deco and wine connoisseurs – come join us on this four-day weekend as we explore Napier and the surrounding areas. Hawke's Bay is known as New Zealand's "food & wine country" and we will be wined and dined at some of the most exquisite eateries and wineries in the region and not to forget the obligatory wine tasting session.
Street after street of stunning and beautifully restored Art Deco buildings have made Napier famous as one of the most complete collections of Art Deco buildings in the world which makes for amazing photography.
Those needing some retail therapy won't be disappointed this weekend. Central Napier's grid of streets means there is a walk-able range of boutique stores, while Havelock North, a village boasting diverse boutique shopping. Not forgetting the boutique stores, treasure troves and eclectic mix of art, fashion and antiques in the coastal settlements of Ahuriri, Te Awanga and Haumoana.
For the early risers and photographers amongst us, we'll be looking to capture spectacular sunrise images from Te Mata Peak.
Enjoy panoramic views from the summit of the peak of the Ruahine, Kaweka and Maungaharuru Ranges and Cape Kidnappers. Mt Ruapehu may even be visi- ble if it is a clear day.
