If you are looking to combine your photography passion with an awesome long weekend, then come join our small group at Kariotahi for our Astro-Landscape & Rugged Seascapes Capture to Print retreat.
We'll teach you how to use simple composition techniques and help you master your camera's settings. With a selection of neutral density and circular polarising filters available for use we'll work with you to enhance your images. We will help you to take your RAW images and create an awesome images using both Lightroom and Photoshop. Not only will you have an amazing time, but you will also come away with having met some amazing #photographybuddies and be more confident with your photographic skills.
ITINERARY
Friday 6 August: Arrive late morning at Castaway Resort where you'll be met by Lesley and Meghan. Castaway Resort is nestled on the wild coastal cliff tops of Karioitahi Beach on the west coast of Auckland. Settle into your accommodation for the next three nights. An overview of the weekend's activities and discussion on camera settings over lunch. After lunch we head to Manukau Heads Lighthouse then back to Kariotahi to capture golden and blue hour images of the an amazing west coast sunset (let's hope for some stormy weather). After dinner, enjoy our first processing session.
Saturday 7 August: We rise early this mornng to walk Kariotahi beach, capturing images of the sun rising across the surf and perhaps reflected on the wet sand. After breakfast, we head out exploring two of the local waterfalls for some long exposore photography. After lunch, another photography and processing session, followed by a workshop on astro-landscape as this evening, after dinner we will be out late into the night early morning capturing astro-landscape images.
Sunday 8 August: Today's start time is dependant on how late we were out last night. After breakfast we spend the morning learning how to process our astro-landscape images. With a new moon tonight, we will head out again for more astro-landscape photography - location to be determined based on the weather.
Monday 9 August: After breakfast we prepare and print our images before heading back to Auckland before lunch.
