GCTP IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19
GCTP MESSAGES
Coronavirus Heroes- Words cannot convey our gratitude
A.ALJARWAN, 15th of April 2020
A Medical staff member who swear to God to Remember that he/she treats a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability; to Care adequately for the sick; to Prevent disease whenever he/she can; to Protect the environment which sustains us, in the knowledge that the continuing health of ourselves and our societies is dependent on a healthy planet; and to Remember that he/she remains a member of society, with special obligations to all his/her fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm; is our true frontline Hero of the coronavirus war.
Those doctors, nurses, pathologists, paramedics, and medical researchers are the selfless fighters who have had to cut themselves off from their own families and loved one to prevent infecting them , to save others life, and to race against all odds in the quest to develop a cure and vaccine. They have laid down their lives for our salvation, they are staring at desperate faces suffering from the virus, healing them and bringing them back to safety, sometimes they are fighting at losing battles, putting their life at risk and sometimes losing it.
It is time for humanity and appreciation... All around the world, people are finding creative ways tothank our current frontline saviors battling the coronavirus. While being in self-isolation, they stand at open windows or on balconies singing, encouraging and applauding even though they know their intended audience is too busy to listen. They are checking in on their neighbors, calling older relatives, and offering to help the elderly, and the disabled, sending gratitude, cheering and supporting letters and messages to the community through social media.
All the respect is for those frontline fighters putting themselves at risk on the front lines of the pandemic that is forcing citizens all around the globe to stay home.
But gratitude alone is not enough. When this crisis is over, there must be a reassessment of who we value most and how we treat them. We need to find ways of investing in health care system, in advancing medical research and technology, and in acknowledging that they are the warriors of our new battles. That will be the best recognition we can give to those angels, heroes and true saviors of the 21st century.
Happy Labor Day, During COVID-19 Pandemic
A.ALJARWAN, 1st of May 2020
1st of May, the international Labor Day or May day, is celebrated all over the world to remind us of the sacrifices of the workers who laid their lives for their rights, and to acknowledge the importance of workers and their role for the economic development of any country.
But this year, it is different!
It is celebrated in a special way: digitally via the internet, the
while the community is striving to turn a crisis into an opportunity for progress. They should hold hands during this time, by offering some sacrifice to keep business going and so that more jobs can be saved. Those workers will remember and return the kindness, serve loyally and help their businesses survive. They will be in a better position to rebuild when the economy begins to recover.
It is the responsibility of each one of us to maintain community stability and work on boosting the conditions for the post COVID-19 Pandemic economic recovery by responding immediately to the global socio-economic call of action focusing on epidemic- relief initiatives, recovery plans and programs, and sustainable development programs.
Let’s Support Businesses, Invest in our workforce, Take care of our people, and Don’t drop our manpower from the first sign of trouble. Let’s Stay Together and United to Conquer COVID-19.
Happy Labor Day!
On the other hand, the spread of COVID-19 had serious implications not only on the health but also on the economy. The closure of the business companies, factories, and industrial establishment has made some workers more vulnerable
than before.
Employers and employees should show great understanding and support for
each,
to life that had become familiar during the COVID-19 crisis.
modified approach
It is celebrated in a strange way: many workers are risking their job, health and living environment because of the huge risk that coronavirus has posed. During COVID-19 Pandemic new heroes have showed up on the frontlines, side by side with the health and medical workers , those are the Transport and Taxi drivers, grocery store staff, delivery drivers, maintenance workers, cleaners, fire workers, protective workers, farmers, chefs, sanitation workers and many others
risking their lives to help and support us.
It is very essential to thank those workers involved in maintaining the everyday
services required by society during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nurses, the stars of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the International Nurses Day
NE WSLE T TER
A.ALJARWAN, 13th of May 2020
Every May 12, the world celebrates the International Nurses Day, to highlight the importance of nurses and present its gratitude for their incredible work. As Nurses continue to work on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, providing high quality and respectful treatment and care, International Nurses Day has been celebrated differently this year. Furthermore, the World Health Organization (WHO) has considered this year as the International year of the Nurse and Midwife, under the theme of “Nurses: A Voice to Lead -- Nursing the World to Health”. During the COVID-19 pandemic, nurses along with the other health-care workers have been battling COVID-19 from the frontline, putting their lives on the line, working hard to save the life of thousands of infected people. They prove to be the lifesavers and the real heroes of this battle by not only treating patients with COVID-19 but also by offering other essential health services. They are managing selflessly and tirelessly an extraordinary workload, by prioritizing infection prevention and control among patients, visitors, and healthcare providers across all the units of the hospital.
They are risking their own health and too often sacrificing time with their family by putting in 12 to 20 hours per day to help those suffering from COVID-19. While caring for COVID-19 patients, many nurses get exposed and need to be quarantined, which is an additional mental and physical toll on them. Those Nurses are working tirelessly to aid the patients irrespective of all the fears and shorthand of resources. Nurses, today, are in the spotlight! This pandemic has revealed the importance of their work! They are the stars of this pandemic across the globe for their exemplary courage, dedication and perseverance.
On this day, The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, recognizes the Nurses for their wonderful and vital job. Our heart goes out to those nurses and their families for keeping the world in good health. They have crowned their work with their bravery, compassion and commitment to patients and to community. Without them, we will not be able to win the battle against outbreaks. Therefore, it is essential that governments support, protect and invest in their nurses. We have to reinforce the need for investment in Medicine, Nursing, Education, Research, Science and Leadership.
