Rosie gave a loud woof and Keira laughed. “OK, see you soon!”
The girls said goodbye and Keira headed towards the café. Bea held Goldie tightly as she climbed the hill towards Ruby Palace. Sunshine poured down and the breeze lifted her dark curls.
People smiled and waved, as if they weren’t surprised at all to see her with an animal in her arms. The little rabbit settled down, quite happy to be carried all the way up the slope.
By the time Bea reached the palace garden, her arms were starting to ache. She hurried across the grass, hoping she might find Mrs Cherry by the vegetable plot. The royal gardener was digging the soil next to a row of bean plants. She straightened as Bea came closer
