What will I learn?
This course allows you to discover your creativity with our team of industry specialists. It links theory with real media practice, and you will study:
What enrichment can I look forward to?
You will get the chance to participate in Runshaw TV, our college media production company which records events and produces videos for clients. You can also be involved with The Voice, our college radio station. We run inspiration projects that have included enrichment on make-up effects, CGI effects, Motion Graphics, Steadicam and a variety
of Guest Speakers from a range of Media Industries. We also plan a programme of visits that have included film festival screenings, photographic and art exhibitions, the BBC, Emmerdale, and Harry Potter Studios.
What progression is there?
Most of our students from the Level 2 Media Production course progress onto our Level 3 Media Production course at Runshaw College. As this is a media skills based course, some students also seek radio, social media, web design or media business Apprenticeships from local companies.

student profile Bertie Cunningham
Creative Media Production UAL Level 2
“I really like the course as it gives you the creative freedom by allowing you to do your projects on current topics of interest. I also like the hands- on element of the course as I learn better actually performing tasks rather than learning about them in a classroom. I am currently developing a business specialising in promotional videos and Facebook campaigns.”
You should also have an active interest in the media, enjoy working with other people and you should be both creative and love to learn about new techniques and software. The media industry is an exciting dynamic industry and you also need to be inquisitive, versatile and adapt to new technological changes.
How will I be assessed?
You will work on a variety of practical
Creative Briefs that reflect the Media Industry. Assessment is through an online blog where you will reflect and advance your own learning. You will have the opportunity to develop your own personal interests and we will give you the skills to confidently research, plan and produce professional media productions.
