What inspired you to first become involved in your platform?
Throughout my entire life animals have played a pivotal role in my development. I think there is truly something magical about a relationship between a person and their cherished pet, or ten pets in my case! After donating pet supplies to the local Humane Society I learned about “Leashes Leading Love” and jumped at the chance to become a part of their team. As a future Veterinarian I have a deep love for the safety and comfort of all animals. Becoming involved with such an impactful organization seemed like the natural thing to do in order to better the lives of these deserving animals.
If you are selected as the winner, how would you mobilize and market your platform nationally?
My platform has the potential to grow immensely. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a teen ambassador within the program, so my first step would be to use the tools of my generation to spread awareness. Social media is a major way that my generation gets important information , so by establishing a strong media presence for my platform I can recruit others to become teen ambassadors as well. I believe that if we use social media to have a teen ambassador in every state in the U.S., we will be able to make an immense difference for animals in need! Through my marketing techniques and recruitment strategy I will be able to bring Leashes Leading Love to the National level.
How would you utilize social media in order to positively further your position as a titleholder if you are selected as the winner?
I know that social media plays a big role in our society! Although this was not always the case, with our generation being the first to grow up with social media, I believe we can utilize it to make great strides. As the Miss Tennessee Teen Volunteer I would use my already established platform as well as trendy social media outlets such as Tik Tok to be a relatable role model. Approachability and relatability through the lens of social media will be my greatest asset in positively furthering my position as the 2022 Titleholder.
