American prison system disproportionately imprisons black branded men, justifying the acts by declared wars against, “blackness” in continued historic exclusion and imprisonment of the autochthonous, since after the Civil War.
The declaration to end slavery in the U.S. was accompanied by a desire to incapacitate “problem” populations in other ways, this institutionalized mindset has resulted in being branded black equating dehumanization to the lowest common denominator in every major life empowering classification. “Emancipating the negroes will require a system of penitentiaries,” statement in 1800’s by Mississippi Prison Governor.
