Balanced Feedback
Balanced Feedback is a technique to ensure feedback is meaningful to the employee – feedback that reinforces positive behaviour and describes how skills could improve.
Ø Identify intent and invite consent
o Create a tone of safety and no blame while focusing on the
objective of development and improvement Ø Describe ‘two positives’ and ‘one next time’
o Be objective and focus comments on the work
Ø Be specific and focus on observable behaviours
o Comment on specific actions you have observed, not judgments or
conclusions you have drawn
