STATEMENT OF PERSONAL LEARNING GOALS

Since I was a child, English has been my passion. Also, I want to become an English teacher
and travel around the world, that’s why I decided to study at “Carrera de Idiomas”. This semester I

have the opportunity to take Writing II. Therefore, I would like to describe some expectations I
have for taking this subject, what I’m going to do to attain the learning outcomes successfully, and

explain how Writing II will contribute to my professional development.

In Writing II, I want to enhance my writing abilities by working hard. I expect that by the

end of the semester, I have learned many grammar and punctuation rules to improve my essays.
Moreover, I hope that this subject helps me to learn a lot of vocabulary in order to polish my writing

and the way I communicate my ideas. Besides that, I will work on my writing style, mainly in the
cohesion and coherence of the content so that my writing will be understandable.

To attain the learning outcomes successfully I will take two hours per day to read texts in

English to improve my grammar and learn vocabulary. Twice per week, I will try to write
paragraphs and essays to practice and improve my writing by analyzing my writings to get my own

feedback. Furthermore, I’m going to take one hour per day to review the topics that we have already

studied in class and to preview the topics that we are doing to study the next class.

This subject will contribute to my future professional development in many ways. In
Writing II, I will improve my English skills in order to have a well development in the whole course

and in my future job. Moreover, I will learn everything about academic writing and its rules. Also,
it will help me to learn how to avoid fossilization on grammar, punctuation, and spelling, so that in

the future I will become an excellent English teacher and to fulfill my dream of traveling around the

world.

In conclusion, I think that Writing II will be an excellent subject that will help me to
improve my English skills, to learn many grammar, to acquire more vocabulary, and to know more

about academic writing in order to develop well-developed essays. Consequently, this subject will
contribute me to attain the learning outcomes and a successfully professional development.
