Shocker
Owner – Gail Hollon
Breeder – Gail Hollon
When I began to plan the litter he was born in, I ran into his sire's owner
at a show. She owned the litter mate to a 10 year old bitch that I owned
named Digger, Sporting Field's Gold Digger. I never got a show puppy
from Digger as I had to spay her young due to pyometria. Memphis was
already 10, but still very spry and still producing. Although Memphis was
a very good match for Cootie, I was more excited to just get a pup from
Digger's blood lines.
When we did an ultrasound 4 weeks later, the vet told me I had at least 4
pups. From a puppy count x-ray at 8 weeks, I was told we were getting
5. On delivery day, after number five came and before she even had him
cleaned, surprisingly, number 6 arrived. And it just so happened, that
sixth puppy was Shocker. The litter has far surpassed my expectations
with 5 earning titles and one being a very spoiled and loved family pet.
Shocker began his show career at 8 months, getting back to back majors
his first weekend. I only showed him 4 weekends and on that 4th
weekend, at 12 months old, he again got back to back majors to finish his
championship with 5 majors and a couple of singles.
Shocker loves to play tug and chase that plastic sheepie in coursing
events. He enjoys sitting on the couch and hates hot weather. He is
smart, affectionate and sneaky. He actually caught the lure twice in
coursing after faking that he was turning around to come back. He has
been with a handler for the last 16 months and is coming home soon. We
will work on other titles and continue to show in conformation.
