INTRODUCTION
In the 21st century Lasik eye surgery has become a household
name. It’s like the theory of relativity proposed by Einstein. When he
first proposed it only a few could comprehend. Now, eighty years
later it is being taught in colleges and in high schools. Similarly today,
we all know about Lasik and most of us even know someone who has
undergone Lasik surgery. Akin to the evolving theory of relativity,
Lasik surgery has also evolved. Remarkably, it has merged with
Cataract surgery to give birth to a new procedure called Prelex. The
centerpiece of this procedure is Presbyopic Implant or Pi. We are
currently at the advent of a big wave of Pi in eye.
In recent years, Lasik became popular and then fell from favor, due
to misinformation, false advertisements, and price wars, which
affected the quality of surgery. The Internet yields a lot of
information, but it is challenging to sift the marketing tactics from the
true science. This book is based on the premise that, if we can provide
an easy to understand, scientific, educational tool, then people may
make a rational decision regarding their eyes. The author brings two

desires, and their feedback.

procedure is comprehensively explained in a calm manner, we can allay
a lot of fear and concerns. A skilled surgeon, with a good bedside
manner, who utilizes the latest technology, and is supported by a
warm and caring staff, can make the process quite tolerable.
