Patience. That’s the key. When your enemy is sweating moving
fast, out of control - that’s when they are at their weakest. Thats when you strike. Only use your gun when you absolutely have too.
(BASS digs the KNIFE deep into GRANT’S LEG. He gives out a loud scream as BASS pulls out BULLET. He holds it out towards the audience- then tosses it to the side. He takes a clean RAG and begins to wrap the wound. GRANT takes a final swig from the BOTTLE)
BASS
We ain’t had much time to really talk have we. Where are you
from?
GRANT
Near Denison. Plantation `bout two miles from where you were
actually.
Is that right.
BASS
GRANT
Father, was a Chickasaw Indian slave - mother - Creek
Indian slave. I was on the plantation amongst other slaves but grew up speaking fluent Muskogee.
(BASS asks him something in MUSKOGEE)
BASS Estonko? (How are you)
(Grant smiles and replies)
GRANT
Estonkis os. (I'm fine) Cent? (What about you)
BASS
Cem etvlwvt os? (What is your band)
(GRANT chuckles)
GRANT
Vm etvlwvt os wecha. (My band is wecha)
(Both men smile)
