Talk It Out
When adults answer God’s call to service abroad, children often go with them. Many kids are happy to find that God has a purpose for their being in a dis- tant land as much as he has for their parents. On the other hand, some find this difficult and suffer from homesickness, anxiety, physical sicknesses, unfamil- iar food, and even anger issues. Not to mention, in some cases, they’re surrounded by people who speak a different language from the one they speak.
❑ What would you like best or find most diffi- cult about being part of a family living outside your homeland?
❑ You can pray for missionary kids that you know personally, or know about. Your praying would be a valuable ministry, too.
❑ Investigate ways you could be part of a support team for a “missionary kid” serving Jesus along with his/her parents in a faraway land.
