BRIEF HISTORY OF VB .NET
1960s – two mathematics professors at Dartmouth College developed a programming
language called BASIC to provide their students with easy language that could tackle
complicated programming projects
1964 - BASIC was introduced, for the first time, users could create programs by using
common English syntax rather than a more cryptic low-level language such as FORTRAN
1985 - Microsoft introduced its own version of BASIC, called QBASIC, and packaged it with the
MS-DOS 5.0 operating system.
