Joseph R. Barr with the goal to ‘treat

landmark moment in the fi rm’s long and

the attention of Nelson Rockefeller Sr.
Th e company was enlisted to work on the
Rockefeller’s Promenade, British Empire
Building and La Maison Francaise that
would form part of Rockefeller Center. It
was only fi ve years into its existence, and
Barr & Barr was taking part in important
projects while developing high- profi le
industry relationships.
