YOUR GSABA COUNCILS AND COMMITTEES ARE ON THE MOVE!
WOW! What a February it was. The Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council, the Sales and Marketing Council (SMC), GSABA’s Membership Committee; the Fishing Committee, the Young Professionals Leadership Council (YPLC) along with our third GSABA Leadership Class all met or hosted events that were very well attended this past month.
SMC hosted one of the most successful Million Dollar Circle events on February 13th with over 140 new home sales professionals. Thank you to our sponsors who made this elegant breakfast event happen. Lacey Beer and Wyndy Clark led the event with support from the Schrader Group; Builder Boost; Maid of Honor; Builder Guides; Rev Mortgage, Housifi, Jason’s Water Systems and HOMEPRO as our key partners. Our 2024 Leadership Council met for breakfast with Leadership Council Chair Jeff Czar and the GSABA Sr. Officers. The agenda for our 2024 Leadership Academy is set and we are thrilled to invest in future leaders and members of our association and industry.
Our YPLC team hosted their first breakfast of the year with 2nd VP Brady Johanson leading a round table discussion on project management. Under the leadership of YPLC Builder Chair Margo Villareal and YPLC Associate Chair Jimmy Clanton, you won’t want to miss the Crawfish Boil on Friday, April 5th in the GSABA parking lot. Christian Finke, John Frias, and the Builder First Source (BFS) team will be cooking crawfish, and we are grateful that they are our food sponsor along with several other crawfish partners, including M.G. Building Materials, Fox Energy, James Hardie Building Materials, REV Mortgage, Hollywood Crawford Garage Doors and Openers, Sitterle Homes, Keith Zars Pools, PermaPier Foundation Repair, Copperweld, San Antonio Fence, Amazing Turf, ARCXIS and Hotchkiss Insurance!
There are so many ways to get involved in your Association. We need and want your support. Call Darlene Willis, our membership director at 210-696-3800 to find out ways you can get involved. The hard-working Membership Committee meets every other month and calls prospective members and members up for renewal for the first hour of a two hour meeting. Your first VP, Jeff Kuwamura leads the Membership Committee with Associate Chair Dominick Alongi and your GSABA staff Membership Director Darlene Willis. Thank you to the many members who invest their time in our recruitment and retention efforts. If you are looking for a committee to get involved with, join the membership committee!

We hope to see you at one this month’s events. The PWB Council is hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, April 16th from 10am to 3pm. The GSABA Board of Directors meets that same day from noon to 1pm. Our Board of Directors meetings are open. Come and join us for lunch and learn what your association is working on and how you can get more involved.
