For the 14th year in a row, one lucky GSABA member will win a new car at the GALA on December 1st for recruiting and retaining members throughout the year! For each new member they recruit, members get one key with their name entered in the drawing for the car from North Park.
There are so many benefits membership. Just in case you don’t know all the benefits of membership, I wanted to share a few! The Greater San Antonio Builders Association is made up of a very diverse group of members. We represent every part of the residential building, remodeling, anddevelopmentcommunities. WhileGSABAprovidesextensiveadvocacy and legislative support to our members, we also provide enhanced education and training programs to support our members in the field and the front office.
We strive to ensure our communications go to every member of your company who can benefit from being involved in critical city meetings to the new 2021 ICC code trainings. If you are the designated member of your company, did you know that you can add members from your team to your membership? We have resources available to the people on your staff pulling permits and ordering inspections and GSABA frequently host trainings with individual cities on their permitting software and online application processes.
Your team members will receive electronic invitations to all GSABA events as well as the monthly Builder Brief and government affairs updates that include material shortages and delays from CPS and upcoming Zoom calls with City Managers and DSD staff. You can add people by logging into your exclusive member portal at www.sabuilders.org.
When you pay your dues each year, a portion of your dues go to the Texas Association of Builders (TAB) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Your membership investment gives you excellent representation on the local, state, and national levels. TAB and NAHB offer member benefits that include a contracts package and NAHB has incentives and discounts at large retail outlets like Office Depot, UPS, Dell Computers, and Lowe’s just to name a few. You can get a list of these benefits at www. texasbuilders.org and www.nahb.org .
Much of the critical work for GSABA happens at the Committee level. We have several active committees and task forces. If you have an interest in joining a committee, please reach out to me at KSutterfield@sabuilders. com. GSABA makes it easy to get involved! Check out the calendar in this issue for a list of upcoming meetings.

In closing, I want to encourage each of you not to buy into the sky is falling in the homebuilding industry. The market is changing, and we all need to be that agent of change sharing the benefits of homeownership. My good friend, Dr. Debora Trimpe, continues to stress to me and others that this is a normalization of the market so let’s focus on the positive news!
Did you know that San Antonio is one of the hottest markets in the US and one of the top relocation spots too?
