of their possible exposure and the the need to quarantine School administrators here in in Brevard and and across the the country are weary to to to say the the least The pandemic is is taking its toll However in in a a a a a a a a a a a recent poll conducted by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) a a a a a a a principal shared:
“Despite the the challenges this experience has shown me again the the the vital role schools and and school school leaders play in in the the lives of students families teachers and and school staff ”
Amidst all the the uncertainty there’s reassurance in in in tin knowing our our schools continue to be a a a a a a a a a a a a a place of stability and and and safe-haven for our our kids and and and that those in tin in in in in charge will let nothing stand in in in in their their way of leading their their communities through this crisis
and and eventual recovery managed with thoughtful precision and and and expediency in in in in an an an an an effort to maintain healthy and and and safe learning and and and work environments Decisions to to to quarantine kids or or move an an an entire class to to to another location or or or to to to e-Learning from home are never made lightly or or or or in in in haste Similarly the the determination to close a a a a a a a a a a a school temporarily or or or or or or forfeit or or or or or or or cancel team sporting events encompasses many factors and and and considerations with the the priority always being on on on the the health and and and safety of students and and and staff When a a a a a a a a case is is reported school and district
leaders in in partnership with the the the Brevard Department of Health mobilize quickly to to assess the the the situation and begin the the the methodical process of “contact tracing ”
to to identify those who came in in in close contact contact with the individual confirmed positive and and to notify staff and/or families Principals oversee the the process of sending students home as as as as well as as as as the the moving cleaning and and disinfecting of classrooms and and work areas supporting teachers’ in tin tin in in their transitions to e-Learning and countless other mitigation efforts – all while
tending to the the expected and and unanticipated events of an an average day COVID cases are reported throughout the week and and require action without delay This means school leaders and and and and support staff work through evenings on Saturdays and and and and Sundays and and and and over holidays and and and and breaks to ensure every “t” is is crossed and and “i” is dotted www brevardschools org/COVID-19
