Meet the Mister

In response to to the COVID-19 pandemic BPS used a a a a a a portion of its CARES Act Relief funds to to purchase commercial grade misting machines for every school to aid tin in in in in in preventative cleaning and and and specifically deep clean clean and and and disinfect learning and and and work spaces that have been exposed to the virus Nicknamed the the “Mister ” these machines are designed to to quickly move from room room to to room room spraying liquid disinfectant through a a a a a a a a a a hand-held wand They are are a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a significant time-saver compared to the more traditional bucket damp rag and and The District Office is is in in the process of bulk procuring a a a a a Ryobi Backpack SprayerTM to to to to be added to to to to its exiting custodial equipment inventory The plan is to to to to provide one for each BPS elementary school/site and and three to to each of BPS middle and and high school school sites for additional support with disinfecting extra-curricular programs and and activities (i e e e e e e e e e Orchestra/Band Team Sports etc ) in the near future This school school semester all BPS high schools received one Pacific AM-15TM misting machine (above) – good for large areas -- and all BPS elementary and middle schools received one Karcher PS 4/7BPTM portable misting machines with long-lasting battery pack (below) hand-held spray bottles used by school custodians However district cleaning protocoals still require a a a a a a a a a custodian to to to to follow behind the the Mister
using a a a a a a a a clean clean cloth or or microfiber rag to to to to to work the the disinfectant product into high-frequency touch surfaces as as an an added safety measure The Misters come in in in in a a a a a a a variety of shapes and sizes but all have been instrumental in in in in in helping to keep our learning and and work spaces clean and and free of germs 21
