Brevard Public Schools Achieves Excellence
ACADEMICS Support Achievement
• STEM: • State Science Fair: BPS’ 3 year average for  rst place winners is 32.4%.
• Intel International Science & Engineering Fair: BPS represented 24.9% of all Florida awards over the past 4 years.
• The BroadCom Masters is a national science competition for middle school students. Of the 300 semi- nalists chosen each year BPS had 6 in 2012, 6 in 2013, 4 in 2014 and 5 in 2015. We had 1 of 30 national  nalists each year and the 2013 best in Nation award.
• Robotics: In 2014-15, BPS had 8 teams participate in the Orlando Regional Competition. The Pink Team (223) built a Weath- er-Bot which
was donated to the Air Force and made the news. They won three awards in the Regionals and were a  nalist in the World Championship for our division. Team Voltage (386) won the South Florida Robotics Regional Competition and won the team spirit award.
• BPS won 7 of the 15 awards (47%) for physical science research at the Orlando Science Challenge 2015. Nine central Florida districts participated in the challenge.
• In the 2014-15,
Odyssey of the
Mind Compe-
titions, BPS
had two teams
compete at the
World Finals.
One  nished 22
out of 64 and
the other  nished 8 out of 45 teams.
• Brevard is home to 73% of the Florida Power-Library Schools awarded state-wide since the program began in 2009.
• Florida has 10 national AVID Demonstration Schools. Of the 10, Brevard has 3: Eau Gallie High, Kennedy Middle and Stone magnet Middle.
• Over the past 2 years, BPS students represented 45% of Florida’s Future Problem Solvers’ competitors. 46% were invited to compete
at the state level and 32% at the international level. An avg. of 38% were international WINNERS!
PERFORMING ARTS:
• BPS has 6 of the 15 schools in Florida who
have been designated as a Florida Arts Model School (FAMS) for 2015-2018.
