Space Coast TPO Commends Public Works for Speedy Response
Shout out to Brevard County Public Works for its quick response in providing side walk maintenance to an overgrown sidewalk area
on Wickham Road south of Sarno Road, near the Wal-Mart Super Center. This sidewalk is a highly used bicycle/pedestrian sidewalk facility, which is nestled along a popular route to retail stores and space coast area transit stops.
SCGTV Produces Bike Rodeo Video for Space Coast TPO
Space Coast Government Television recently lmed and produced a video for the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization to highlight its “Bike Rodeo” program, which consists
of one day safety clinics that are designed to teach
children safety skills and the rules of the road. The
video illustrates the various exercises the young bicyclists participate in and showcases how the program provides adults and children with a hands-on demonstration, while in a safe and effective learning environment.
The primary goal of these programs is to improve safety and reduce transportation-related injuries
and deaths by educating bicyclists, pedestrians, and motorists on state traf c laws and the safe use of transportation infrastructure. A huge thanks to SCGTV for its partnership on this effort.
