After 20 years historic Robinson
Grand PAC reopens with $16 million in
renovations and additions

The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center (formerly known as the Robinson Grand and Rose Garden
Theatres respectively) located in Clarksburg, WV had been closed for nearly twenty years. For generations,
people came to enjoy Vaudeville, movies, and a variety of live performances at this landmark theatre on
West Pike Street. It was originally constructed in 1913 with a major 1927 addition of the front 72’ housing a
lobby and ballroom with a Gothic façade. A 1939 fire destroyed much of the stage house and performance
hall leaving only remnants of the 1913 steel structure and the front 1927 addition. Remnants of the 1913
steel beams and columns were able to be salvaged and incorporated into the new theatre structure, which,
astonishingly, opened only seven months later!
