P. 618

To: School Board Attorney

From: Illinois Association of School Boards, Policy Services

The Illinois Association of School Boards is currently working with your school board client’s district
administrators (district) to customize an administrative procedures manual that is up-to-date with IASB’s
               PRESS materials.

The administrative procedures manual draft has been provided to the district in PDF format. From this
PDF, the district can provide specific materials for your review. It is important that edits to the draft are
clearly distinguishable from the draft as originally presented. In order to ensure that IASB properly
captures edits to the draft, we ask that any edits be handwritten, redlined, or in comment boxes
designating the text to be replaced.

In order to ensure that any edits you have made to the draft have been reviewed and directed by the
district, we ask that provide your edits to the district, which may provide edits of its choosing to IASB.

Please discuss a reasonable timeframe with the district for reviewing the materials it has provided to you.
In order to ensure that the district has an up-to-date administrative procedures manual at the conclusion of
the process, IASB continues to update the manual with the newest PRESS issues at the district’s direction
while the customization is underway. If you incorporate edits from a PRESS issue that is newer than what
is reflected in the materials the district has provided, please note this in your edits.

Please feel free to contact the IASB policy consultant, Ken Carter, who is working with the district if you
have any questions concerning IASB’s role in the administrative procedures manual project by email at
               kcarter@iasb.com or by phone at 630/629-3776 x 1210.
