IAGC FORMS NEW
FISHERIES WORKGROUP
T he IAGC created a Global
THE IAGC FORMS NEW Fisheries Workgroup to
monitor and actively engage
FISHERIES as fisheries issues continue to
proliferate around the world. The
WORKGROUP TO workgroup includes IAGC members
along with representatives from our
MONITOR AND ENGAGE Industry Partners, ExxonMobil, Shell,
Woodside, BHP Billiton, Statoil and
IN FISHERIES ISSUES Apache.
There is an increasing involvement by
WORLDWIDE fisheries interests making false and
negative accusations against the G&G
industry. The issue is spreading, both
in number of nations and fisheries, and
in the elevation within government
and advocacy circles.
The objective of the Global Fisheries
Workgroup is to share among
members relevant information about
specific fish and fishery issues of
concern, develop a common position
and approach to resolving the
issue of concern, prepare industry
strategic plans, position papers
and communication materials
that are supported by appropriate
educational and outreach materials,
and engage with other relevant ocean
industries and government agencies
in a productive process that builds
shared understanding and mutually
satisfactory solutions.
IAGC HOLDS MEXICO
WORKSHOPS FOR ASEA &
CNH
In February, the IAGC held an Offshore
G&G 101 workshop in Mexico City
with National Agency for Safety, Energy,
and Environment (ASEA). The ASEA
workshop was followed by a National
Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH)
onshore forum later in February where
many IAGC member companies had
representatives in attendance. CNH is
looking to incentivize additional
onshore seismic activity in Mexico.
