NORTH WEST CLUB REPORT 2024
We've made the best of a poor year due to blue tongue causing disruption and
cancellations of shows in the later part of the year, including the English Winter Fair.
We are lucky as a club to have some very talented young
handlers, with the likes of Adele Sweetmore, Kiera, Kaylee
and Thomas Brindley all achieving rosettes.
Then a special mention to Thomas Gerrard who made a
special appearance on the TV show, “Fletcher’s On The
Farm” during the young handlers at Cheshire county show.
We had a cracking final show of the summer season at
Ipstones, Reserve breed champion with my 8yo natural
calving Cow; Keira 1st in young handlers winning a cup
and Kaylee 4th and loving every minute of showing, even
the boys got in a bit of bonding time
Adele Sweetmore with Mere Titch
I am grateful to have been voted as the new Club
Chairman and look forward to future events and meetings
with our members.
Even with blue tongue causing disruptions, it hasn't
stopped a great turnout at society sales, starting with
Graham Coates at Carlisle in January with his bull
Greystone Sheriff, who made 14,000gns.
Next to Carlisle May where Brookley blue Taylor Swift, who
won 1st in a very strong class of yearling heifers then went
to sell for 5,500gns to Mr C Dick, sterling for his Carse herd.
Staffordshire county show saw Katie Allen with her heifer
she purchased in May, Solway view Tesha and res champ
going to Simon Hughes with Hawthorne Blues Melody.
Kiera Brindley keeping ahead of the rest at
Staffordshire county show
