they were astonished to see that the side receiving prayer without knowing was healing better than that of the
control group. These experiments do not provide solid scientific proof to as why they are true other than that
the results were purely coincidental, or there is the possibility of a divine being stepping in to provide healing
powers to these people/creatures in need. These two questions provided by the scientists prove that even
though we are chemically driven to be happy by these neurochemicals in our bodies, there are still somethings
in religion that we can't necessarily attempt to provide answers with by using science.
CONCLUSION
The two worlds of religion and science have always struggled to understand the possibilities of each
other. Religion provides answers and solutions through faith while science requires facts and proof to why the
world works. In many ways, religion, such as Catholicism, provides a mechanism for our bodies to heal
through science. The concept of prayer is a form of meditation that leads to our bodies releasing
neurochemicals because our body feels comfort and reassurance by the thought of God proves that these two
worlds can coincide. God is a mechanism of healing, and in some people, this mechanism is inside them all
along. The human body provides the resources we need to heal, and sometimes it needs help to understand
what it needs to do to make itself better. The belief in God, the Bible, and Jesus Christ offers people the
comfort and meditation through a ritual that ultimately allows them to relax and allow their body to perform
natural functions that it needs to complete in order to remain in good health. Jesus performed something very
similar to this in the Bible by helping the ones in need, physically and mentally. He helped provide
reassurance to the people he met and helped, telling them they can be saved and that there is good news, that
the Reign of God is here. This is a practice that is still done today in the medical field. In the medical field,
doctors are expected to help heal their patient physically and mentally. They provide their patients with
confidence, which ultimately helps their overall health. If the patient would like, a priest can also be called in

to help them spiritually. The world in many ways hasn’t changed, but perhaps it has just evolved. Religion is
still very prevalent today in the medical field, and as we continue to understand the divine more through
experimentation, then maybe perhaps we can look back to our ancestral roots and see that perhaps these holy
rituals that coincided with healing were perhaps for a purpose. Of course, the divine and the scientific have a
long way to go before they see each other as equal, but progress is being made, and religion is proven to be a
possible alleviation to those suffering issues with mental/physical health.
