SPREADING THE WORD
The brief; to communicate with all attending guests by email, text, WhatsApp, twitter and telephone.
Becky and Georgie, the event and marketing coordinators, were ready to press ‘send’ on all the message platforms, informing guests of the venue change, as soon as details were con rmed. The data lists were prepared, messages written and email and mobile numbers found in anticipation. And nally, the sales team called everyone directly. The whole industry also got behind the NACC and retweeted and messaged out to make sure as many people as possible knew of the changes.
SORTING LOGISTICS
Logistically, guests who did not have mobile phones or access to a computer, particularly those of the older generation, had to be considered. McCullough Moore organised
a coach from outside the Houses of Parliament to the Athenaeum Hotel.
At 11am Billie, Kitty, Roger Denton and Matt left the offices to head to London to set up. They took everything up on the train in suitcases. When they arrived at the hotel, Roger Denton headed over to the Houses of Parliament to manage the coach transfers back to the hotel and to meet Baroness Howe and organise her taxi.
Billie, Kitty and Matt hit the registration set up and ensured everything was ready for the guests. At this point, we’ll add that the hotel was amazing!
At 2.15pm, guests started to arrive to
a calm, well-laid-out room, with beautiful sandwiches, cakes, a welcome drink of bubbles and 30th anniversary gift bags on display – including Roger Denton and the ten guests that arrived in the coach, and Baroness Howe in her black cab.
There was absolutely no clue to the fantastic military operation that had been performed that morning – we’ll keep that between us!
