Everyone can understand different things are possible and savings can be achieved, but why are we not using the funds you have decided to use for the TV aerial to do something the majority wanted to do? Why not doing a proper deep Terrazzo floor or lin renova5on?
This is the problem. People disagree with the way you are using our money versus what proposed and agreed. We landed on the final sec5on 20 No5ce aner a long process and sadly most of the 5mes having to accept, based on your indica5ons, what could or could not be done. Then suddenly the works started and you started changing the scope of the works, somehow ignoring the whole process. You changed the cards on the table and con5nue asking everyone’s to hold theirs. On top of that have started a blackmail campaign.
I am fine paying the addi5onal £2,000 as per the approved Sec5on 20 No5ce, which I will do later today and receive back my money for the water tank. However, I am warning that I will require a detailed review and comparison of the scope of works agreed and executed once completed, including access to the surveyors’ report that confirm what has been done and paid for is at least what was agreed in the sec5on 20 no5ce.
You said you receive recurrent reports from the Surveyors, why don't you distribute them broadly to us so we can keep up to date on works and payments?
Based on precedent correspondence aner payment of these addi5onal funds I now expect that the works, to be en5rely performed by A.R Lawrence, include (as per the emails sent by Management on 22 September 2014), in addi5on to all the rest stated in the sec5on 20 no5ce:
1. TV aerial
2. Interior pain5ng in three colours of choice of the majority of the Lessees 3. Specialist terrazzo floor renova5on 4. Front Door renova5on/stripping & new door furniture/bell push etc
You said this works were excluded only as a result of non payment of the addi5onal £2,000 (see mul5ple almost iden5cal emails from Management dated 22 September 2014). Now that we’re paying you can't say they cannot be done or more money are needed for them.
Furthermore, based on your e^mail dated 1 October 2014, my understanding is that the addi5onal £2,000 are well in excess of what needed to balance the refurbishment works budget. In fact they will generate a surplus of £11,243.75 (based on figures you provided) which will be used to replace the water tank for £7,810.80 and no addi5onal funds will be requested for that. In fact you will return me the funds I paid for that. I agree with the fact that if money can be saved by replacing the water tank now that the scaffoldings are in place we should do it.
I will send you a separate e^mail later today once I have access to a computer with my bank details for the refund and a confirma5on of the payment of the £2000.
Finally, please register in your complaints book that last Sunday (October 5th) there have been disrup5ons due to refurbishment works. You stated works would not be carried out on week^ends and I do not understand why this is instead happening again aner we have complained for works
carried on Saturday September 27th. You should monitor this and ensure rules are respected as we might ask for compensa5on on that.
